Family Assistance ServicesThis group offers classes that help people add health and well-being to their lives. Each week, classes focus on one of five topics: fitness, nutrition, meal planning, soul care (mental health), and first air and home hygiene. They present goals to help people apply these lessons to their lives. To join, you must live in Polk County and be below 200% of the poverty line. The Women's and Children's Shelter has 62 beds. They have a warm and safe environment. The services are for women and their children that are experiencing homelessness. Check in begins at 4:30 PM daily. This continues until the facility is full.

This agency runs several youth crisis shelters. They provide residential group care. The help is for youth between the ages of 10 and 17. These youth are runaways, homeless, or have been kicked or locked out by their parents or guardians. They may need short-term respite or crisis placement. They may also need emergency shelter due to abuse or neglect. There is no cost to families.
