Transitional Housing - Lake Wales Care Center

Lake Wales Care Center provides Transitional Housing. This program helps people and families in need. They get an apartment that is fully furnished. It has beds and linens, living room furniture, and a TV. All facilities have a playground area for children. There is a free laundry facility on site. They also have free WiFi. This program helps victims of crimes committed by Florida inmates. Through the VINE program, victims can sign up for an automatic notification service. Anyone may call the toll-free number to get an inmate's current location and release date. You may also register to learn when an inmate is released, transferred, escapes or dies. Wellness for Life - Lake Wales Care Center

This group offers classes that help people add health and well-being to their lives. Each week, classes focus on one of five topics: fitness, nutrition, meal planning, soul care (mental health), and first air and home hygiene. They present goals to help people apply these lessons to their lives. To join, you must live in Polk County and be below 200% of the poverty line. Youth Crisis Shelters - Youth & Family Alternatives

This agency runs several youth crisis shelters. They provide residential group care. The help is for youth between the ages of 10 and 17. These youth are runaways, homeless, or have been kicked or locked out by their parents or guardians. They may need short-term respite or crisis placement. They may also need emergency shelter due to abuse or neglect. There is no cost to families.
