Operation Homefront offers the Critical Financial Assistance Program. The program helps military families with with grants, not loans. It is also given in the form of grocery cards. Day Star Life Center provides food to families in need in Hernando County. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 9 AM to 1 PM. Call for more information.
This agency helps dialysis patients with transportation costs not covered by other resources. Patients may use grants to travel to and from dialysis treatment, or for transplant work-ups. This is a funding of "last resort." Social workers must complete the NKF Application for Financial Assistance for the patient. Please see the website for more details.

First United Methodist Church of Brooskville offers its food pantry to the community every Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
First United Methodist Church of Spring Hill provides a food pantry to those in need. The pantry is open every Wednesday from 9 AM to 3 PM. The pantry is located in the Fellowship Hall with a private entrance.
The Food Stamp Program(EBT) helps people with low income to buy healthy food. The application can be done online. Please see the website for your local service center. The application is also used for Temporary Cash Assistance, Medicaid, and all other Dept of Children and Families services.
