Night Shelter - St. Vincent de Paul

The Night Shelter is an “in at night/out by morning” shelter for homeless men and women. Staff begins admitting new clients at 8:45pm. Returning clients sign in at 9pm. Clients can sleep in the Shelter for up to 21 consecutive nights, after which they must make room for new arrivals. After 14 nights “out,” they have to be re-admitted if no permanent lodging found. Center of Hope Transitional Housing - St. Vincent de Paul

The Center of Hope is a program that provides housing for low-income and homeless people. The program is for those trying to attain self-sufficiency and permanent housing. Clients meet with a case manager who helps them create a personalized plan of action. The Center helps Veterans, the homeless and the working poor. They may stay for up to two years. This is an organization of lay Catholic men and women. Their mission is to grow spiritually by helping those in need. Their mission is to ease suffering. This chapter serves the downtown St. Petersburg area. Clients can get services such as food, clothing, shelter and more. Please see the website for more information.

School Readiness Scholarships

Children from working families with low to moderate incomes, or families with certain risk factors, may get scholarships to attend an early learning program. To qualify, the parents' income must be less than 150% of the federal poverty level. Children from birth to 13 years old can get a scholarship. In some cases, older children with special needs may also be able to get help. Families in this program can receive:

Northside Baptist Church

This church offers services to those in need. They have a food pantry that provides food to more than 2,400 per year. They can help with rent and utilities on a limited basis.
