HEP gives people in need a place to stay and support for up to 90 days. Single adults can sleep in the Emergency Dormitory. Families can stay in the emergency shelter, which has 8 one-bedroom apartments. The Family Transition Program helps families get back on their feet and become independent again. Services Include:
The Salvation Army provides emergency shelter. It is for individual men and women who choose not to participate in their programs but just need a good night’s rest, a hot shower, and a hot meal. Stay is limited to 30 consecutive nights. Please contact for more information.
The Family Residence keeps homeless families together while they get their lives back together. Families live in a home-like environment and have daily and weekly house chores. They meet with staff members to find out what their needs are and to make a plan of action. Clients must call 211 first in order to be admitted. Please see the website for more information.

Ozanam Outreach helps individuals and families who are in dire need. They serve those living in the downtown St. Petersburg area. Please note that they DO NOT help with rental payments. However, they will refer clients to other agencies that do. Please call 727.823.2516 for hours.

They help with cases like money problems, family issues, housing problems, wills, and clearing old criminal records. The help is free, but you must qualify for these services. Call 727.582.7480 or visit Pro Bono website to learn more.
Freedom Village offers affordable living options for the elderly. It is for those who are at least 62 with limited incomes. The apartments are close to shopping and restaurants. A community room and computer lab are also onsite. The cost of rent depends upon each person's income. Please see the website for more information.
Apartment Features Include:
RCS Grace House provides dignified apartment-style emergency shelter. It is for homeless families with children. They may stay for up to two months. Food, clothing and household goods are available to residents. Residents must be willing to get employment and take part in weekly life skills classes. Upon completion of the program, families are eligible to shop at the RCS Thrift Store for furniture and household goods at no charge. Please call for more information.
