This group offers housing programs. These are for military families. There are four different programs. They are designed to help at every stage of their transition into civilian life. Please call or visit the website for more information.

Programs Available:

Assurance Wireless offers free lifeline wireless phone services. You may qualify if you receive Medicaid or Food Stamps. You can also qualify based on your household income.
Separate households that live at the same address are eligible, including residents of homeless shelters and nursing homes. Residents with temporary addresses are also eligible. Please call or go to the website for more information.

Lotus House provides a range of services to help homeless women, youth and children. They offer the Lotus House Thrift Chic Boutique which sells low cost clothing and household items. They are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM.

Lotus House provides Maternity and Infant Services to homeless and pregnant women. They help with housing, food and clothing. Other services are available. Call for more information.

Miami Rescue Mission provides the Bargain Barn and Bargain Barn Plus. They sell clothing and other items at low costs. Call for more information.

The Center for Men is a year-long residential Regeneration Program. It is for men who suffer from various life-controlling problems.

They may offer:

• Chemical abuse or addiction
• Homelessness
• Illiteracy
• Lack of adequate job skills
• Medical and mental issues

Emergency overnight shelter and transitional housing is also available. A meal, shower, and safe place to stay for the night are offered. Call for more information.

Miami Rescue Mission provides The Center for Women and Children. They help homeless women and children. An overnight shelter as well as a long-term recovery program is available. Disabled American Veterans (DAV) helps America’s disabled veterans and their families.

Assistance includes:

• Community outreach
• Counseling
• Death benefits
• Filing claims for VA disability compensation and pension
• Health care
• Home loan guaranty
• Information seminars
• Life insurance
• Represent veterans and active duty military personnel before Discharge Review Boards, Boards for Correction of Military Records, Physical Evaluation Boards and other official panels
• Vocational rehabilitation and employment, education
