Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA)- Northeast Florida AIDS Network

This agency offers housing opportunities for individuals with AIDS. It helps those who are struggling with housing costs. It is divided into two parts. One program is short-term and the other is long-term. Please call or visit the website to learn more.

Jacksonville Bridge Community Release Center - Bridges International

This program can serve up to 140 inmates at a time. It gives participants the chance to get their lives back on track. They are employed during the day and work on substance abuse treatment, education and vocational courses at night. WR inmates pay a fee for their room and board. They also make court-ordered payments and send money home for family support. They are required to set money aside for savings upon release. Program offerings at each facility vary to best meet the needs of the men served. Please see the website for more information.

LifeBuilders Addiction Recovery Program - City Rescue Mission

This is an addiction recovery program at the McDuff Avenue campus. Clients live on campus for about 18 months. They must make a commitment to the program which will enable them to make a new life for themselves and for their families. Clients take part in a full range of education and recovery services. Each person is assessed and receives a program plan based on his or her own specific needs. Please call for more information.

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) - Northeast Florida Community Action Agency

LIHEAP is a program that helps low-income households who are low on funds or about to have their energy cut off. They will make payments directly to the utility company for you. Outreach Center - Hubbard House

This group runs an outreach center. It is for survivors of domestic violence and their families who need help but don’t need to use the shelter. It is open weekday during regular business hours. Appointments are available in person or virtually. Please call or visit the website to learn more.
