Born Learning - United Way of Northeast Florida

United Way offers workshops as part of the Born Learning program. These workshops help parents explore ways to enhance their child's development. UWNF provides parent education workshops that are simple, fun and interactive. All parents may attend. This includes those who have been court ordered to attend a parenting class. Parents with disabilities and those with low literacy levels may also come. UWNF provides information on the stages of development, nutrition, early literacy and more. Braille and Talking Books Library-Florida Division of Blind Services

Braille and Talking Books Library is a free service. They offer reading materials in Braille and recorded audio. It is for those who are visually impared. The equipment used for the service is loaned out to customers. This includes digital players and headphones. The books on audio are also sent out to the customer at no charge. Children's Programs - Episcopal Children's Services

ECS has programs that are based on the latest research. They show the impact of early activities on brain growth. Bright, colorful settings encourage exploration. Engaging playthings stretch young imaginations and develop motor skills. Shared stories and rhymes build language skills. Developing language skills are supported through meaningful conversation. Children who live with violence are impacted by that violence--whether they were physically abused or not. HH helps them understand that violence is not their fault. They help children know what they can do should they be in danger and help them understand and express their feelings.
