FISH of North Port provides door to door rides for medical appointments. Service is available to Englewood, North Port, Port Charlotte, and Venice. The volunteers also provide trips for grocery shopping, but only in North Port. There is no charge for rides. Donations are greatly appreciated. Rides are for residents of North Port with no other transportation options available. Rides are available Monday to Friday. Riders must call between 8am and 3pm the day before to arrange a trip. This is a free shuttle service. They offer transportation for employment, education, non-emergency medical, and quality of life trips. Passenger and wheelchair assistance is available. You must be a resident with low income, elderly, or disabled. You must submit an application. Processing and review of the application can take up to 14 days. Passengers can request service at least one day to one week in advance. Reservations can be made over the phone, weekdays; from 9 AM to 2 PM. Services are available Monday through Friday, from 6 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday from 8 AM to 6 PM. Please call for more information.
