Pregnancy & Parenting Support Services-Catholic Charities

This agency has confidential services for women facing the challenges of pregnancy. Services include pregnancy testing and prenatal and childbirth information. The Mentor Program provides support for the mother. She can get baby supplies. Adoption services are available. There are parenting classes, maternity supplies, emergency food and area resources.

All of these services are provided at no cost to the client.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Florida Gulf Coast

This agency has counseling and monthly support groups for patients and their families. They provide medical equipment loans for patients with a doctor’s referral. They can grant limited financial assistance (medical equipment, counseling, etc.). They have self help groups. They have educational programs, information and referral services. Teen Residence - Brookwood

This is a group home for girls ages 13 to 18. They are placed here by DCF because of abuse or neglect at home. Some girls are also placed by their parents due to stressful family situations. The program focuses on helping the girls learn independent living skills, such as education, job skills, money management, and problem solving. They also receive individual therapy and group therapy from licensed therapists.

This program offers a broad range of services to pregnant woman and new parents. Women can get breast feeding education and support. They can get counseling referrals, nutrition assessment, parent education and referrals to various free and low cost services.

This agency has numerous services for those who have drug or alcohol dependencies. They have both inpatient and outpatient treatments. They have educational programs that have the aim of preventing drug and alcohol abuse.

Anyone can make a referral. New patients can walk in or make an appointment to do the initial assessment before being admitted. Each patient gets an individualized plan of action. Florida Medicaid and many insurance plans are accepted. There are payment plans for those who do not have insurance.

After treatment is complete, each patient gets follow up services.
There are inpatient residences for women, men and those going through drug detox. They have 24-hour, seven days per week supervision.

This agency offers education programs that enhance public safety. Their focus is encouraging safe driving habits and avoiding the use of alcohol while driving. They offer a traffic school class.
