National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Florida Gulf Coast

This agency has counseling and monthly support groups for patients and their families. They provide medical equipment loans for patients with a doctor’s referral. They can grant limited financial assistance (medical equipment, counseling, etc.). They have self help groups. They have educational programs, information and referral services. You can sign up for their newsletter.

Teen Residence - Brookwood

This is a group home for girls ages 13 to 18. They are placed here by DCF because of abuse or neglect at home. Some girls are also placed by their parents due to stressful family situations. The program focuses on helping the girls learn independent living skills, such as education, job skills, money management, and problem solving. They also receive individual therapy and group therapy from licensed therapists.

CASA - Community Action Stops Abuse

CASA provides a Domestic Violence hotline for residents of Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough Counties.

"We operate the area’s 24-hour hotline and emergency shelter; non-residential programs, such as support groups, economic empowerment and legal advocacy; Child Protective Investigative Team support; community and corporate training; and the CASA Peacemakers anti-bullying and healthy relationship school curriculum."
