There are currently two eye glass programs:
Prescription Glasses
A client that needs glasses must have an employment letter from their employer stating the need to have glasses to perform the job. Or, for Children in Marion County. When children need glasses for school, they must have a letter from their school of attendance stating the need. They must also have a parent letter, proper ID, and social security cards for both parent and child.
Reading Glasses
Reading glasses are given away at the office. They have a small reading chart to determine the strength needed for each client.

Food 4 Kids is a “backpack program” for hungry children in Marion County. Guidance counselors at the schools provide each child’s name to them, including the number of siblings in the household. Volunteers pack durable, rolling backpacks full of food for each household. The volunteer delivers the backpacks directly to the school, tagged for each child. The child takes the backpack home on Friday afternoon and returns them to school on Monday morning. Then, the volunteers pick up the backpacks at the school and the process starts all over again.

Langley Health Services provides Behavioral Health. A variety of services are offered for all ages, including individual, couples, and family/group counseling.
There is treatment available for many other issues. It is tailored to the needs of each patient. Call for more information.
Southern Legal Counsel, Inc. is a not-for-profit public interest law firm. They help those in need with basic human and civil rights. They use the power of law to obtain positive social change by striking down unjust laws and policies.

FSYR offers a summer camp for youth ages 10-15. Kids can take part in many fun activities such as canoeing, archery and swimming. They have the chance to build teamwork and peer communication skills. They can also enjoy the tranquil outdoors. Campers will have the chance to interact with law enforcement personnel and volunteers and learn other social skills. Marion Senior Services provides In-Home Support Services, such as:
There is a waiting list for most programs. Clients are ranked based on level of need. Fees for service are determined at the time of the in-home assessment. It will vary based on the client’s ability to pay. Fees range from no charge for Medicaid clients, to a small monthly co-pay for CCE clients, to full pay for private clients. Most programs are for persons at least 60 years of age. Medicaid also requires meeting income and asset criteria. The Home Care and Alzheimer’s programs require a caregiver in the home. Intervention Services offers:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay provides mentoring programs for children. They offer a Site-Based Program, or a Community Based Program. Volunteers will meet with their "Little Brother" or "Little Sister" at a near-by school or after-school site. Outings can range from going for a walk, working on arts and crafts, or watching a sporting event. The agency provides free or reduced-priced tickets to various events in the community.
