NewboRN Home Visiting is a free program for women in Alachua County who give birth there. Within a week a registered nurse or midwife will visit. They will check on the health of the baby and mother, as well as help with breastfeeding and nutrition, give tips of how to safely care for the baby, and help connect the family to other local resources. MIECHV / Parents as Teachers is free for parents with infants and young kids in stressful life situations. They teach parents and caregivers skills to help their kids be healthy and safe. As well successful in school.
