Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches provides residental care to children in need. It is for ages 8 through 18. Youth are cared for by "cottage parents" who help them develop a strong work ethic, sense of teamwork and self respect. Each child must be recommended by the local Sheriff. Transitional Housing is available to homeless families. This is for those who require a longer period of time to get back on their feet. This program can be extended as two years, as long as the client continues to follow house rules and work with case management. In this program, more intense case management is provided with emphasis:

• Affordable Housing
• Job Skills (Employment and Training)
• Realistic Budgeting

The Compassion House is a living facility. It is for homeless women and women with children. They provide a total of 8 bedrooms. Washing machines and dryers are available. They accept any woman or woman with children who don’t have a place to live. They must meet qualifications.

The mission is to provide the following services:

• Emergency shelter, food, clothing and counseling for homeless women and women with dependent children
• Help the women and children create and execute “Life Plans” (Case Plans) with the goal of having their clients achieve self-sufficiency, permanent housing and the ability to get back on their feet so that they can live full productive lives
• Work diligently with other organizations to provide women and children opportunities for health care, child care and employment
