Division of Early Learning

The Division of Early Learning is called DEL for short. It is a division of the Florida Department of Education. This division works to provide early learning services for children.

Programs Include:

  • Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R)
  • School Readiness (SR)
  • Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)

Mentoring Program - Big Brothers Big Sisters Tampa Bay

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay provides mentoring programs for children. They offer a Site-Based Program, or a Community Based Program. Volunteers will meet with their "Little Brother" or "Little Sister" at a near-by school or after-school site. Outings can range from going for a walk, working on arts and crafts, or watching a sporting event. The agency provides free or reduced-priced tickets to various events in the community. Utility Bill Assistance - Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly

The Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program is known as EHEAP for short. It is offered by the Department of Elder Affairs which helps low-income households with at least one person age 60 and older. The help is for emergency energy related costs during the year.
