This is a free educational program that gets children ready for kindergarten. Children must be 4 years of age and live in Florida to take part in this program. They may do a school year program made up of 540 total instructional hours. There is also a summer program made up of 300 total instructional hours. Provider

The ELC of Alachua County provides financial help for child care and school readiness. They work with a range of partners and advocates to get local services for children. They help kids from birth until kindergarten. Their help includes includes, but is not limited to:

  • Providing Child Care Resource & Referral services
  • Providing Inclusion Warm-Line services
  • Determining child care financial assistance eligibility procedures
  • Implementing child performance standards
  • Providing child developmental health and/or academic development screening and assessment
  • Determining use of developmentally appropriate curricula
  • Ensuring health and safety requirements
  • Coordinating with statewide data system requirements
  • Participating in state initiatives to build and implement an optional quality rating and improvement system
