Devereux Florida teaches children with diabetes how to take control of their illness. This is accomplished with individual and group teaching concerning diabetes management, as well as assistance with diet and exercise programs.

This agency has a mobile camping program. It combines Summer Camp and Youth Camp and offers it to areas that may be socially and/or economically challenged. The aim of this program is to teach youth how to use their free time in a positive manner. They will develop a high level of self esteem and learn positive leadership skills. Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches provides residental care to children in need. It is for ages 8 through 18. Youth are cared for by "cottage parents" who help them develop a strong work ethic, sense of teamwork and self respect. Each child must be recommended by the local Sheriff.
