Arnette House, Inc. - Group Homes/Transitional Living

Arnette House, Inc. provides Group Homes/Transitional Living. They operate two Foster Care group homes for six boys and six girls. They focus on the physical and emotional well-being of individual clients. They teach methods for sustaining basic life skills aimed at fostering self-sufficiency.

Youth ages 13 to 17 are provided a healthy and supportive living environment. They meet the basic needs such as food and shelter. They will help in their goal to become self-sufficient once they age out of foster care when they turn 18.

Arnette House, Inc. provides Residential Services. Shelter is for children ages 10 to 17 years old. For those who are runaways, lockouts, homeless, truant, or experiencing parent/child conflict.

The emergency shelters offer:

  • A safe haven for eligible kids, 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Activities such as arts, crafts and music, to promote positive youth development
  • Family reunification services and case management
  • Health care coordination services to insure access to medical treatment
  • Life skills groups to promote responsibility and independence
  • Mental health counseling
  • Structured daily living programs employing positive behavior modification techniques
  • Substance abuse prevention services

Haven of Lake & Sumter Counties, Inc. - Financial Assistance Services

Haven of Lake & Sumter Counties, Inc. serves victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. They provide Financial Assistance. Services are available to all clients free of charge.

  • Clients are provided with food, toiletries, personal hygiene items free of charge
  • Financial assistance with housing, utilities, food and gas
  • Financial Education Program – assist clients with money management, developing budgets, etc.
  • Financial/Savings programs for clients

New Beginnings - Residential Programs

"New Beginnings of Central Florida offers two residential programs for men, women, and families. One of our programs is the Homeless Rehabilitation Program, the other is the Selah Program. The Homeless Rehabilitation program is not a shelter, residents participate in a 6 – 9 month economic sustainability program. It focuses on helping a person to get back to work, increase their income and live independently. The Selah Program is designed for individuals or families working but living in homelessness. This is a 3-9 month economic stability program. The program is designed with very specific expectations to empower the participant to learn to live independently."
