Florida KidCare

The state of Florida offers health insurance for children from birth through age 18, even if one or both parents are working. It includes four different parts.

Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services, Inc. - Emergency Youth Shelter Care

Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services, Inc. provide Emergency Youth Shelter Care.

When kids need a place to go, they can provide respite care in its two emergency shelter facilities.

The emergency shelters offer:

  • A safe haven for eligible kids, 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Activities such as arts, crafts and music, to promote positive youth development
  • Family reunification services and case management
  • Formal on-site education program with certified Miami-Dade County Public School teachers
  • Life skills groups to promote responsibility and independence
  • Mental health counseling
  • Structured daily living programs employing positive behavior modification
  • Substance abuse prevention services

Touching Miami with Love - Children's Program

Touching Miami with Love works with children from kindergarten through 8th grade. They help improve their education, as well as provide creative and recreational activities. August through May, Monday through Friday, 2 PM to 6 PM. ToMorrow’s Leaders are kindergarten to 5th grade. Emerging Leaders are 6th to 8th grade. All day programming from 8 AM to 6 PM.   • Artistic Expression: Dance, Drama, and the Visual Arts
  • Computer
  • Enrichment: Focused on STEAM activities 2012-2013 (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics

  • Literature and Reading Instruction
  • Physical Fitness: Football, Lacrosse, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis and more
  • Social Skills Training

They also have a Summer Camp. It is 7 weeks, June through August.
