Family Caregiver Support / Caregiver's Respite

The Haven Transitions program offers informaton, resources and referrals to individuals and their caregivers who are coping with a life-limiting or terminal illness. Every month Haven Transitions helps more than 250 people who can benefit from pre-hospice care.

Grief Support and Counseling

Healing Hearts—Haven’s grief support services include individual, family and group counseling as well as support groups and educational programs for anyone in the community who has experienced a loss. To honor the lives of family, friends and loved ones, we host Love and Remembrance services in May and November. Last year, more than 4,100 individuals benefited from the services provided by Haven’s Healing Hearts program.

Grief Support for children and teens

Through our Healing Hearts Grief Support Program, we offer children and teens individual and family counseling as well as programs such as Camp Safe Haven and SASHA’s Friends. Camp Safe Haven is for children who have lost a loved one and SASHA’s Friends is a support group for kids who are anticipating the loss of a loved one. Each year, Haven hosts Camp Safe Haven for children ages 6 – 12 and youth ages 13 – 17. Supported by Haven staff and volunteers, children participate in fun and therapeutic activities to help them work through their grief. Our monthly Families Sharing in Grief and Hope group provides a time for families to come together to share their experience and participate in a special activity.

Legal Counseling

Three Rivers Legal Services is a local, non-profit corporation funded for the sole purpose of providing free civil legal services to low-income, eligible clients.

Living Wills and Advanced Directives

Since 2003, Haven Hospice has distributed more than 20,000 copies of Aging With Dignity’s Five Wishes advance directive as part of our community outreach efforts. The document, which meets legal requirements in 40 states including Florida, enables people to express how they want to be treated should they become seriously ill and unable to speak for themselves.

Victim Services

State Attorney Victim Services provides advocacy and support for victims of domestic violence. An advocate can accompany the victim to medical exams and court. The advocate's goal is to assist the victim and explain any questions he or she may have while going through the legal process. Provides crisis counseling and criminal justice support/advocacy. Also provides victim's advocacy, emergency financial assistance, victim's compensation claims, and information and referral.
